Timberland PRO Men’s Powertrain Alloy-Toe ESD Industrial Sneaker

If you take your job very seriously, then you obviously need a shoe built for professionals. There are certain instances when you can’t afford to play around with the task at hand – Yes, even if the job involves a lot of games and sports. And where do you look when you want outlandish levels of professionalism, style, and practicality?

With their record-breaking standard for craftsmanship, unmatched fashion sense and new levels of authenticity, there’s really no other place to look except Timberland. This global leader in footwear design has proven time and time again that they’re products stand head and neck above the rest. Today, we cast our camera lenses on their Timberland PRO Mens Powertrain Alloy-Toe Electro Static Dissipative Industrial Sneaker that has been doing rounds in almost all workplaces and sports.

What Are You Buying?

Timberland PRO Men's Powertrain Alloy Toe ESD Low Work ShoeThe Timberland PRO Men’s Powertrain Sneaker is a star among the PRO series that is built with optimum functionality and durability in mind. Since it’s been engineered by professionals, for professionals. Coming to you in either a sober black and gray or playful black and blue, the sneakers can really blend in or stand out. At a glance, the shoe looks buff and well designed, but does it really cover all the basics of a work shoe? Let’s find out.

  • Ultimate Comfort

Just by looking at it, you can tell that every inch of the Powertrain sneaker is packed with all the comfort and safety features you expect. Even the cement construction itself works at an advantage of making these shoes super flexible. Not to mention giving users a reduced break-in time as compared to other types of constructions.

In addition to incorporating high-quality microfiber leather for the uppers, the inners are generously padded to give you all-day comfort and cushioning. However, it’s the outsoles that really take all the credit for an added degree of comfort. Thanks to Timberland’s Comfort suspension system in the polyurethane outsoles, these bad boys have some of the meanest shock absorption capabilities I have ever seen outside an impact work boot. This system allows the PRO sneakers to absorb, distribute and bounce back the energy to your foot where it’s needed most. This is ideal for anyone walking or running all day or engaged in high action sporting activities.

  • Durability and Safety

Don’t be fooled by the lux lap of luxury that Timberland incorporates in the Powertrain Industrial Sneakers; I was taken aback by just how many protective features are actually in these die hard shoes. It’s like they built a tank and covered it up with pillows. First off, the protection from the inside is insane. I’m talking about the ASTM rated alloy toe that protects your toes from hard impacts and heavy compression forces. This allows you to work without fear or worrying about every hazardous element in the environment.

This alloy safety toe is complemented by a fiberglass shank that works wonders for the structural support and protection from punctures and sharp objects. As if that wasn’t enough, Timberland went ahead and incorporated electro static dissipative capabilities to keep you free from any unnecessary static and interference.

But what I really like about these sneakers is that they really take safety and protection to a whole new level. Not all protection involves impacts and punctures; other features are subtle but still very effective. I’m talking about the mesh lining that is thoroughly treated with antimicrobial technology to prevent any and all instances of foot odor. No more sweaty, smelly feet embarrassing you in front of your colleagues.

Shortcomings

Rarely do you find a shoe so well built and designed that you can’t pinpoint any shortfalls. I had to dig truly deep to find out what customers did not like most about the safety toe sneakers.

Now, Timberland really did a great job of making these sneakers super light and flexible, but they may have pushed it a little bit too far. Some customers have complained that the Powertrain Alloy toe Industrial sneaker is a tad too soft on the outsole. This is obviously a major concern if you’ll be walking on rough terrain and jagged rocks. But the sneakers seem to be holding their own so far.

Additionally, Timberland did great to bring their usually high prices down to more affordable reasons, but this could have worked to reduce the durability of the Industrial sneaker. One part that you will definitely have to replace with time are the insoles which wear down quite rapidly.

Verdict

What can I say; Functional, stylish, flexible and will all the safety features you expect in a safety toe, Timberland’s industrial sneaker is definitely worth every penny. It promises years of consistent service and protection from above and below. That’s what I call going above and beyond the call of duty. If you’re looking for a well-rounded sneaker with peak levels of safety and comfort, then you definitely need to check out the Timberland PRO Men’s Powertrain Alloy-Toe Electro Static Dissipative Industrial Sneaker.
